Lifelist: Red Headed Agama (Agama agama africana)

22 Oct

Country: USA

State: Florida

County: Miami-Dade

Date: 9/25/2010

Co-herpers: The South Florida Herp Society

Notes: This was one of the highlights of the South Florida Herp Society’s exotic lizard day in 2010. We had a fun time surrounding and pursuing these beautiful herps. During our hunting, Eric proved himself to be speeds and adept at grabbing them and Lloyd fell on his rear making a valiant effort at a grab. These lizards are quickly spreading throughout the peninsula and have a good amount of cold tolerance; and though exotic, there is not yet strong evidence that they are an invasive species.
