County: Palm Beach
Notes:There’s always some lifers lost in the annals of the past. The Oak Toad is one of them for me. They’re extremely common but extremely interesting, and I can’t quite remember when I saw or heard my first. I do remember the first time I was actually interested in them – in the summer of 2011, on a night where I was determined to show Josh Young his lifer Barking Treefrog we were deafened by these Oak Toads’ whistling calls. Still always a pleasure to hear chorus after a rain in the Florida summer.
