Lifelist: Neotropical Rattlesnake (Crotalus durrissus terrificus)

Neotropical Rattlesnake (Crotalus durrissus terrificus)

Country: Paraguay

Departamento: Boqueron

Date: April, 2011

Co-herpers: Rebekah Holbrook

Notes: Found this beautiful girl as we were walking back from an Nivacle indian village responding to a call about a bite – which ended up being another Neotropical Rattler. According to my friends who live in the area, Rattlers are not an uncommon sight. (Second note: I also forgot the fact that I had seen one 6 years earlier in Paraguay with Tim and Jeff S. Oops.)

Nice. I’d like to find at least just one viper up here. Maybe it’s the climate.

Hit open rock faces on cool mornings this fall… Coppers should be out and about.
